Application portal & status
Once you apply to our university, you will be sent an online Admissions portal login. This portal is where you will check your application status, check for application materials that have been submitted or need to be added, view your assigned admissions counselor, and the place to submit your enrollment deposit. You will be asked to turn application materials in by specific deadlines.
To check the status of your application you'll need your login information, which was sent to you via the email you used on your application. If you do not have this information, please email transferadmissions@gregorybgallagher.com with your name and date of birth and we will resend.
College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Transfer Application Process
There is no minimum amount of units required to transfer to the University of Redlands. Students may transfer up to 66 semester units or 100 quarter units from a two-year institution and up to 96 semester units or 144 quarter units from a four-year institution.
The Common Application for Transfer or free University of Redlands Transfer Application for Spring 2025 is now available.

Applications received after the priority deadline will be reviewed on a space available basis.
For students who have completed 24 or more transferable semester units or 36 or more quarter units:
- Graduated from high school or equivalent
- Have taken a majority of transferable units completed in academic courses
- Completed two semesters of full time coursework with no less than a 2.0 (C) in any course
- Completed and passed the following core courses with a C (2.0) or above:
- English composition
- Mathematics (at or above Intermediate Algebra)
- Foreign Language (One semester/quarter, or two years in high school)
- A recommended minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8
Students who have completed less than 24 transferable semester units or 36 quarter units:
- Graduated from high school or equivalent
- Applicants will be reviewed based on their performance in high school and college
- Test optional for fall 2021, SAT or ACT test scores.
- Complete and submit the University of Redlands Application (free) or Common Application
- Request official transcripts from all institutions attended and have them issued and sent directly to University of Redlands
- Request official high school transcript including proof of graduation or the equivalent to be issued and sent to University of Redlands
(Transcripts must be issued to University of Redlands and mailed directly from the institution in order to be considered official. Transcripts hand-delivered or mailed by the applicant are not considered official.) - One letter of recommendation from a professor who can speak to your academic abilities within college-level coursework. If you are unable to request a recommendation from an individual during your time as a student, please contact Undergraduate Transfer Team, for further instruction.
Note: Materials required outside of the application, may be received after your application is submitted.
Articulation agreements are available for many two-year institutions. Find them via the Registrar's office and learn more about our general education requirements, "Liberal Arts Inquiries", Associate Degree to Transfer options, or transfer credit policies.
The Conservatory of Music accepts several transfer students each year. Follow the steps outlined below and read the General Guidelines for Music Transfer Students carefully to complete a successful transfer application.

Read the audition requirements and submit the music application at the same time as the campus application.
Step 3: Audition
Students applying for the fall semester should submit a video audition by March 1st. Spring applicants should submit a video audition by December 1st. If you have any questions about the application and audition process contact the Director of Music Admissions by email or phone at 909.748.8014.
General Guidelines for Music Transfer Students:

The Bachelor of Music degree, in Performance, Composition, and Music Education, is based on eight (8) semesters of lessons and ensembles. If you do not have transferable credits for these areas you may still need to study for four (4) years at the University of Redlands.

The audition will be a major factor in determining what academic year (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior) transfer students are placed in.

All Bachelor of Music students are required to take the Upper Divisional Qualifying (UDQ) exam at the end of their Sophomore year. If you are auditioning to enter as a Junior the audition will also be considered as your UDQ exam.

The Bachelor of Music requires 30 credits in Liberal Arts Foundation, (non-music) courses. Transfer students, especially those from junior colleges, are encouraged to transfer as soon and early as possible to avoid adding un-necessary years to their study.

Students interested in the Johnston Center must submit applications to the University of Redlands and the Johnston Center for Integrative Studies. Students may indicate their interest in the Academics section of the University of Redlands Common Application. Applications can be submitted concurrently, however a student will not be reviewed for the Johnston Center until admitted to the University of Redlands. You may access the Johnston application here.

School of Business & Society (SBS) Transfer Application Process
A Bachelor of Science in Business is designed to help you develop a broader understanding of how business works and the internal processes and external forces shaping the future of business. Courses are offered online or in person (one night a week) to accommodate your life or work schedule.
Admission to the School of Business & Society as a degree candidate is granted after all admissions materials have been received and all minimum standards have been met. A complete application file includes:
- A completed, signed application
- Official transcripts from all institutions previously attended
- 40 units of transferable credit
- 2.0 GPA minimum
Financial Aid
- 77 percent of entering transfer students receive financial aid
- $10,200 average financial aid award for transfer students in the School of Business & Society

School of Education (SOE) Transfer Application Process
A Bachelor of Arts in Education Studies degree program develops teachers who are paving the way for academic innovation. Classes are both online and in-person (hybrid) each semester to accommodate a culminating fieldwork experience working in local school district during the day.
Important Deadline Information:

Requirements:
- Completed application
- Completion of 60 credit units at an accredited institution which are comprised of the following profile of courses:
- English: at least 1 course
- Math: at least 1 course
- Science: at least 1 course
- Social Sciences: at least 1 course
- The Arts: at least 1 course
- Evidence of meeting Basic Skills Requirement
- Transcript with evidence of undergraduate coursework from a regionally accredited institution with a GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Evidence of a negative TB test result within the last 2 years
- Certificate of Clearance
- Experience working with students preferred, but not required
- Two recommendations from professionals who know the applicant's capacity for academic work
- Personal Statement: Please write a 500- word statement that articulates why an equity-centered pedagogy will be important for you as a future teacher. In your response, please refer to at least three of the bold-faced words/phrases in the Department of Teaching and Learning's conceptual framework.
